What, we're not intriguing?

Apparently some Web magazine had nothing better to write about than to name the "21 most intriguing people in publishing." You can read the story and list here:

I can't believe I'm not on it. But in fact, no one from Maine is on it. No one from the newspaper industry is on it. In fact, I have no idea who these hot shots are.

And you know what? I'm really not that intrigued.

The one link I tried from that page (Highlight's High Five, to which we started a subscription for our five year old grandson just last week) didn't work, either.

Many of the names seem to be more from the world of advertising than publishing. When I consider the increase of ads over content in magazines these days -- just look what's happened to Yankee Magazine, for crying out loud -- it's not surprising.
