At a meeting for the hearing-impaired
One of the neat things about my job is that I get to meet new and interesting people, go to events and meetings of all sorts. I do this as much as my time permits.
Being a journalist -- reporter, photographer or editor -- is fun this way. People kind of expect us to pop in on their events from time to time. Often, though not always, they are pleased when we do.

A new city editor in Waterville
Meet George Myers Jr., city editor at the Morning Sentinel in Waterville.
George started in his new, "permanent" role Tuesday, supervising our Sentinel reporting staff. He lives in Waterville and previously lived in Farmington.
George comes to us after more than 20 years at The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch. He played many roles in the newsroom there -- on the City Desk, in Business, Features, on the Web and on the copy desk.
