Do you trust newspaper Web sites?
The Associated Press Managing Editors, a national newspaper trade organization, released a report this week showing that readers and editors both trust what they read at newspaper Web sites.
But, interestingly, the APME poll found that readers generally are less troubled by anonymous reader comments at the end of our Web site articles. Editors are more concerned.

The NY Times editor on our future
This is why he's the editor of the nation's leading daily newspaper.
Bill Keller, editor of the New York Times, says the worst thing that can happen to daily newspaper journalists today is that we can lose faith in ourselves. All the pundits, all the bedroom bloggers, all the post-ers and critics can't replace what we have: honest-to-gosh reporters out there, covering the actual news. Not commenting on it. Not cutting-and-pasting from it.

Being an intern is hard work
It's not an easy time to be a journalism intern. If you've signed up for this work, it means you're probably thinking of a career in a tough industry that's getting tougher.
We landed a fine intern this summer at the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel. His name is Steve Kolowich. He will be a senior at Bowdoin College this fall, where he will edit the campus weekly, The Bowdoin Orient. A native of Concord, Mass., Kolowich spent last summer interning with The McLaughlin Group in Washington, D.C.
