Boston Globe Ski and Snowboard Expo coming
The Boston Globe Ski and Snowboard Expo is open Thursday, November 20 through 23 at the Bayside Expo in Boston.
This year's show promises to be exciting for the whole family. There will be an elite training challenge for kids and adults to play, train, challenge and test themselves on various training apparatus, by Doug Lewis, former US Olympic downhiller and World Championship bronze medalist.
New this year is the Nor'eastern Snowdown Rail Jam. This is big mountain action that comes indoors, where you can catch some of the region's best free riders as they compete in a first-of-its-kind indoor competition on DNA's Evolution indoor rail slide.
Next will be an Extreme Alpine Dome. Skiers and riders can experience the 'rush' of speeding down the slopes as they ski through the gates of challenging race courses or perform air tricks. There will be different courses to test various skill levels.
Pinching pennies
In this tough economy, Expo exhibitors will help you get to the slopes this winter by offering hundreds of ways for skiers and riders to get to the slopes while saving money.
Children's programs
Load the kids up and bring them to the Expo. There will be innovative kids programs on and off the slopes, to dramatic new ski lifts, anniversary celebrations and showing you how much fun it is to be at your favorite ski area.
Mountain resort destinations
If you're planning a ski trip to your favorite mountain, you'll find hundreds of resorts with vacation packages to fit your budget. Resorts from local areas to the Rockies out west, Canadian and European destinations will help design your trip.
There's plenty of parking at the Expo center, along with food courts to satisfy your appetite.
Ski and ride safely. Use your head and don't forget to wear a helmet.
