Sugarloaf to open Friday
Temperatures have dropped, the foliage season is gone and snowmaking guns are in high gear at Sugarloaf Mountain.
The mountain plans to crank their lifts for the season on Friday with skiing and riding on Tote Road, with lift service on the SuperQuad chairlift.
"We got everything online and running this morning," Rich 'Crusher' Wilkinson, vice president of operations at Sugarloaf said in a press statement. "If all goes well we should have some excellent conditions here for opening day."
The resort replaced all existing water pumps with six new pumps and added 50 new low energy HKD guns and 25 new Boyne Low-E Fan guns, which specialize in making snow at warmer temperatures.
Tin Mountain Round Up
Guests who donate three or more cans of food to help local food banks can ski or ride for just $25 on November 22-23, Sugarloaf's 23rd Annual Tin Mountain Round Up Weekend.

Sunday River opens Thursday
Snowguns have been blasting and with a little help from Mother Nature, Sunday River plans to open for the season on Thursday at 9 a.m., with skiing and riding expected on nine trails, including top to bottom on Cascades, Sunday Punch and Right Stuff.
The resort hopes to open 20 trails for skiing and riding.
Ski and ride safely. Use your head and don't forget to wear a helmet!
