Flood of '87 | Readers remember
Kennebec Journal & Morning Sentinel

Chamber President helps coordinate cleanup I remember where I was during the Flood of '87! I was President of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce. The outstanding chamber staff, including, Alice Wilkins, Kitty Perry and Arrolyn Faloon did a wonderful job assisting the store owners and coordinating our role during the flood efforts. My wife Bonnie also spent many hours volunteering during the crisis.

In spite of all the damage, this tragic event brought people together and we were stronger after the flood water receded.
