Flood of '87 | Readers remember
Kennebec Journal & Morning Sentinel

Losing a business I owned Chase Fuel Co. on the river bank in Winslow. The flood took out my tanks, but they didn't go down. I lost everything, even my bank account. I built a brand new building in '87 (I was there since '48). I lost everything in the flood ...trucks, computers. We had to take all the money we had to rebuild.
