Deahna Giguere, a standout on the tennis court during her four years at Messalonskee, continues to excel as a freshman at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vt.

Giguere started the season at the No. 2 singles position, but was at No. 1 singles when the Purple Knights defeated Plymouth State on Sept. 12. Giguere has won both of her matches in straight sets and has split her two doubles matches. She was recently named "Freshman of the Week" in the Northeast-10 Conference.

St. Michael's is 2-0 on the season, and will be in action again Sept. 22-23 at the Women's ITA at Bloomburg University.
