Gifford on a roll for Skowhegan

True, Skowhegan has outclassed its field hockey competition over the last four games, winning them by a combined score of 29-0. But whatever the context, the statistics for senior forward Sam Gifford are impressive.

Gifford's five goals against Edward Little on Tuesday give her 12 in the last four games. She now has 14 for the season as the Indians are off to a 6-1 start. Skowhegan has scored 35 goals as a team this season.

Gifford scored 15 goals last season. The Skowhegan single-season record is 32 goals, by Katy LePage in 2004.
