High School Sports
Scott Martin has covered high school sports at the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel for the eight years. A graduate of Lake Region High School and the University of Maine in Orono, Martin has worked for these newspapers for nearly 10 years. Martin also coaches middle school baseball and basketball in his spare time.

Locals excel for Husson field hockey, golf

A number of local athletes are enjoying fine seasons at Husson College in Bangor.

The Dorso sisters, Erica and Elisha of Farmingdale have combined for 13 goals and 11 assists for the Husson field hockey team, which is 4-0 in the conference has is outscoring its opponents 21-3. Senior goalie Kelly Bocchino of Vassalboro has a 2.21 goals against average.

The Husson College golf team has three first-year player from the Morning Sentinel's coverage area. Kevin Byrne (Winslow), Josh Gallagher (Winslow) and Chris Hamel (Waterville) all have a scoring average of 78.
