Gardiner Area High School senior Kyle Stilphen, who is preparing to play in the Class B state championship game later tonight, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Maine.

Stilphen, the 2007 Kennebec Journal Baseball Player of the Year, hit .500 his junior year with four home runs and 22 RBIs. A shortstop, Stilphen was one of six players to sign with Maine, the school announced Saturday. He was the only player from Maine.
