BOYS BASKETBALL: Gardiner/Maranacook leftovers

Maranacook's Will Bardaglio and Ryan Martin each spoke with collegiate basketball representatives following their team's 60-47win over Gardiner on Tuesday night.

Bardaglio spoke with an assistant from Colby-Sawyer while Martin talked to a representative from Rivier College. Both are Div. 3 schools. Bardaglio is still looking at about six schools while Martin is fielding offers as well, inlcuding some recent interest from Div. 1 Quinnipiac. Mike Poulin, a four-year varsity member like Bardaglio and Martin, is also being looked at by a number of colleges.
Maranacook has replaced all the old banners in its gym with attractive black and yellow banners that reflect past regional and state titles for each sport on one banner. One of note is the list of 1,000 point scorers which now includes Billy Hill. Hill was not previously included because there was no research to confirm his career. That changed thanks to research by Wendy Ault, according to Maranacook athletic director Al MacGregor.
Gardiner's Mike Denham is one of the team's most improved players this season. The 6-foot-3 junior handles the ball well and is a tough matchup inside and out.
