HOCKEY: Winslow preps for Portland tournament
The Winslow Black Raiders play at Houlton/Hodgdon Saturday then get a few days off before taking part in the prestigous Maine High School Hockey Invitational.
The Black Raiders play three games in the tournament, two against teams from New Brunswick and a team from Tewksbury, Mass.
"I did some research on them and I think these teams are pretty good," Winslow coach Corey Lessard said.
Lessard said Winslow has played well in the tournament, but he isn't necessarily concerned with wins and loses.
"I go in with the attitude that it is not about the wins," Lessard said. "I am playing all three goalies. Each will get a game."
Hayden Fuller has earned the starting job for Winslow after battling for playing time with Ryan Cormier and Jesse Little.
"The goalie position is pretty even," Lessard said. "We'll give each of them a look and see what they can do at that level. They'll definitely get tested."
