HOCKEY: Impressive records at Waterville

Flipping through the Waterville Senior High School hockey team's program, you realize just how dominant the Panthers have been a times.

For example, in a game against Mt. Ararat on Jan. 14, 1991, Waterville four goals in 37 seconds. During that span, they scored two goals four seconds apart, twice. Wow.
Of course, Barry Clukey played on the 1990-91 team, one that once scored 50 goals over a stretch of five games. Clukey set the national high school goals record as a member of that '90-91 team, finishing with 91 goals and 142 points. Waterville won the Class A state title that season. Clukey holds 16 school records.
The most impressive Waterville team may have been the 1971-72 which won 31 games and lost just one, winning both the Class A state title and the New England title.
