High School Sports
Scott Martin has covered high school sports at the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel for the eight years. A graduate of Lake Region High School and the University of Maine in Orono, Martin has worked for these newspapers for nearly 10 years. Martin also coaches middle school baseball and basketball in his spare time.

HOCKEY: Lawrence moving up

In the latest Maine Class A Hockey Coaches Association coaches and media poll, Lawrence High School was listed as one of the teams also receiving votes. After Tuesday night, the Bulldogs could move into the top 10.

The Bulldogs beat Waterville, ranked sixth in the latest poll, 1-0 at Colby College's Alfond Rink, thanks to an early goal by Sam Miller and a 33 save performance by goalie Chris Caron.
Waterville was the only team from central Maine ranked in the top 10. Messalonskee was also listed as receiving votes.
Here are the rankings.

4. Kennebunk
5. Thornton Academy
6. Waterville
7. Brewer
8.Portland
9. Brunswick
10. St. Dom's
