ICE HOCKEY: DelGiudice, Massey among semifinalists for Travis Roy Award

Messalonskee's Matt DelGiudice and Waterville's John Massey were among the eight semifinalists announced Wednesday for the Travis Roy Award. The award is given to the top senior Class A player in the state.

DelGiudice, a center at Messalonskee, has 27 goals and 33 assists this season for 60 points. He has 161 points in his career on 56 goals and 105 assists. DelGiudice will attend Bridgton Academy.

Massey, who has nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points this season, has led Waterville in scoring each of the last two seasons. Massey is also in the top 15 percent of his class and is nearing 100 points in his career.

Other semifinalists are Topher Pochebit of Cheverus, Derek Kump of Falmouth, Biddeford's Nick Reny and Tony Dube, and Lewiston's Jon Roy and Jordan Bourgoin.
