BASEBALL: Burdin playing well for St. Joe's

It's hard to believe when you look out your window that they're playing baseball anywhere, but the St. Joseph's College team has been in Florida all week.

The Monks were 4-3 heading into Friday's doubleheader against Olivet College.

Gardiner's Mike Burdin has played well for the Monks. Burdin, a sophomore, was the starting pitcher on Monday against Clark. Burdin went seven innings, allowing five runs while walking one, striking out five and allowing eight hits. Burdin had no decision in the 6-5 loss.

On Thursday, Burdin started at second base and went 2 for 3 with two runs batted in a 9-5 win over Northland.
