BOYS TENNIS: Kents Hill boys win MAISAD title
The Kents Hill boys beat Gould Academy for the second time this season to wrap up the Maine Association of Independent Schools Athletic Directors regular season team title on Wednesday.
The Huskies won 3-2 on Wednesday, thanks in large part to a big 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 doubles win by Tim Firestone and Trevor Crevatin. With the win, Firestone and Crevatin improve to 10-0 as a team heading into the MAISAD doubles tournament, which will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at Hyde School in Bath.
The Huskies, who finished 11-0, will also be represented well in the singles tournament, which Kents Hill will host at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies' No. 1 singles player, Alex Plavin, only lost once in the regular season to Andrew Bogage of Hyde.
"It was a three-setter," Kents Hill coach Pat McInerney said of Plavin and Bogage's April 16 match. "It was great thing to watch."
