North rules the day in KVAC A

Friday was crossover day for Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A softball teams. All told, there were eight matchups between North and South Division teams.

On this day, the North had the clear edge. The northerners went 8-0, outscoring the South, 43-19.

There were very few blowouts in Friday's crossover games. Nokomis (against Mt. Ararat), Brewer (against Cony) and Mt. Blue (against Morse) each won their games in the bottom of the seventh inning. Lawrence held off Leavitt, 5-4.

The other crossover scores were Skowhegan over Oxford Hills, 4-0, Messalonskee over Lewiston 8-4, Bangor over Brunswick 9-2 and Hampden over Edward Little 5-0.

None of these games are huge surprises. It's just one day, but the North does appear to be the stronger division this year. That being said, Cony has as good a chance to represent Eastern A in the state championship game as anyone.
