SOFTBALL: Hall-Dale rolls along

Hall-Dale High School senior Jocelyn Tripp says she has five pitches. She really only needed one Wednesday afternoon against Mt. Abram: the heater.

Tripp was spectacular. She struck out 12 and allowed just one hit in an 11-0 victory over the Roadrunners.

Furthermore, she didn’t walk a batter. But here’s the most impressive statistic of her dominating afternoon: She threw 75 of her 98 pitches for strikes. That, folks, is an incredible 77 percent.

After the game, Tripp said she knew she was on, but that she still has work to do.
“I need to work on my focus,” she said.

Wait, really?

If she were unfocused Wednesday, it’s scary to think what she can be when locked in.

Yikes.
