TRACK: New England meet
The performance lists for the New England track and field championships are out, and several area athletes are poised for strong performances Saturday at Thornton Academy in Saco. The meet starts at 10 a.m.
• Messalonskee senior Jesse Labreck is seeded first in the 100 hurdles and high jump, fifth in the 300 hurdles, and fourth in the triple jump.
• Cony senior Bethany Dumas will try to defend her New England title in the pole vault. She is seeded fifth in the event. Dumas is also seeded 12th in the 300 hurdles and 17th in the javelin.
• Hall-Dale senior Laura Peterson is eighth in the long jump and 23rd in the triple jump. Hall-Dale is also sending Magen Ellis (3,200), Ariel Howes (300 hurdles) and Wade Davis (3,200) to the meet, which starts at 10 a.m.
• Waterville junior Dominik Alexis is fourth in the high jump, 12th in the 100 hurdles and 23rd in the 200.
• Maranacook senior Max HoddWells is 23rd in the 110 hurdles, 17th in the 300 hurdles, 16th in the triple jump, and 28th in the long jump
• Winthrop’s Dan Soltan is 29th in the 1,600. Teammate Larry Foster is 20th in the high jump.
• Zach Jordan is 22nd in the 400, while Joe Sirois is 29th in the discus. JD Gurski is 23rd in the javelin.
• Winthrop’s Anna Smithgall is 35th in the discus.
The Waterville girls will be represented by Jesse Lefebvre (pole vault), Bethany Karter-O’Brien (javelin, shot put), Danielle Fossa (shot put), Anna Thurston (200), Ci’ara Williams (100 hurdles).
