High School Sports
Scott Martin has covered high school sports at the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel for the eight years. A graduate of Lake Region High School and the University of Maine in Orono, Martin has worked for these newspapers for nearly 10 years. Martin also coaches middle school baseball and basketball in his spare time.

Fall preview is coming

Will Ryan Gay and Shawn Keenan be able to repeat as golf champions?

Will the Waterville girls soccer team be as stingy defensively after allowing just four goals last season?

Can the Waterville field hockey team repeat as Class B champions?

Is Lawrence still the football team to beat in the Pine Tree Conference?

Is the Richmond boys soccer team better than it was last year when it won the Class D state title?

We'll start to find out the answers to those questions when the season opens on Sept. 5 (actually, golf season starts a few days earlier).

Get a head start on the season by picking up a copy of our Fall Sports Preview, which will be inserted in Friday's paper.
