Banged-up Black Bear

The Maranacook Community High School football team hopes to get Pat Norwood back this week for its game at Hampden Academy (Friday, 7 p.m.).

Coach Kevin Norwood says they will hold Norwood -- who rushed for 180 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 34-28 loss to Leavitt last Saturday before suffering a right ankle injury -- out of practice Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pat Norwood suffered a right ankle injury when he has hauled down from behind on a kickoff return late in last Saturday's game.

"We'll evaluate him on Thursday and go from there," Kevin Norwood said.

If Pat Norwood can't go, then expect his younger brother, Henry, to start in his place.

"We'll go with what we got," Coach Norwood said.

Kevin Norwood said Henry is quick, but not the 'bruiser' that Pat is.
