High School Sports
Scott Martin has covered high school sports at the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel for the eight years. A graduate of Lake Region High School and the University of Maine in Orono, Martin has worked for these newspapers for nearly 10 years. Martin also coaches middle school baseball and basketball in his spare time.

BOYS SOCCER: Omsberg off to quick start

Cameron Omsberg played just eight game last season due to an injury, but stilled managed six goals and eight assists.

Healthy, Omsberg is off to a fast start this season.

Wednesday afternoon, Omsberg scored three goals and assisted two others in Messalonskee's 6-3 win over Brewer High School. In the Eagles' season-opening 2-0 win over Hampden Academy on Friday, Omsberg scored an unassisted goal.

"He had a great game," Messalonskee coach Tom Sheridan said after Wednesday's win. "He is a special player."
