Maranacook tailback gets X-ray on ankle

X-rays taken Monday on Maranacook Community High School tailback Pat Norwood's right ankle came back negative, Black Bears coach Kevin Norwood said.

The senior tailback injured his ankle in a season-opening 34-28 loss to Leavitt. He tried to play last week at Hampden Academy, but came out of the game after just two plays.

"It's a bad sprain," Kevin Norwood said. "He's going to go to physical therapy every day this week."

Kevin Norwood is optimistic his son can play Saturday against visiting Morse (0-2), but it will depend on how well physical therapy goes this week.

The Black Bears are also 0-2.
