AK good fit at Winslow
Arian Kumlangngam, or AK as Winslow coach Scott Wood calls her, is lighting it up for the Black Raiders. She scored three goals in Tuesday's 4-0 win at Erskine to bring her season total to seven goals in four games.
A senior, this is Kumlangngam's first year at Winslow. Last season, she led the Hall-Dale soccer team in scoring and prior to that played two years at Erskine.
"For a change we happen to be the one team that picks up a player," Wood said.
In moving back to Winslow, Kumlangngam is returning to her roots. She attended junior high and played soccer with some of the seniors on this year's team.
"It's been really good," she said of her latest move. "My teammates are really nice and inviting and we all get along really well."
Kumlangngam admits she was a little nervous after the move to Hall-Dale, but she adjusted quickly, playing both soccer and basketball. It helps to be a good player, but it's more important to be a good teammate and Kumlangngam has proven that at all three schools.
"I think it's been a good experience," she said. "It's given me a lot of diversity and a lot of chances to play with different people and for different coaches."
