Chadwick, Turner 2 of the best
There's plenty of excitement left this season for Pine Tree Conference Class B football fans. But if two-year cycles hold true to form, the PTC will be even better next year.
Two good reasons are Gardiner's Forrest Chadwick and Hampden's Nolan Turner. The two junior backs displayed their talents Friday night at a playoff game in Gardiner, won by Chadwick's Tigers, 21-20.
Turner scored all three of his team's touchdowns, one on a 50-yard punt return and another on an 87-yard run. In all, Turner rushed for 134 yards and caught two passes for 44. Chadwick caught six passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 138 yards.
It didn't end there, though. Both excelled on defense. With the Tigers needing a first down to preserve the win in the closing minute, Chadwick broke free of the line and raced 67 yards before Turner ran him down at the 4-yard line.
Chadwick punts while Turner returns punts. Both these kids are threats to score every time they touch the ball. Can't wait until next year.
