Gardiner’s Caradonna has surgery

Gardiner Area High School senior Pete Caradonna had successful leg surgery Friday at Maine General Medical Center. However, the injury $suffered in the final regular season game against Leavitt $ was worse than originally thought.

Caradonna had hoped that his recovery would take no more than four weeks, but said Sunday he will need "eight to 12 weeks" to recover.

That puts his hockey season in jeopardy, although Caradonna said his goal is to return by the end of the season.

"I'll still be a captain, but I just won't be able to do much on the ice," he said.
