HOCKEY: Co-op gets new uniforms

The MHW Hawks have new hockey uniforms, and each of the three high schools -- Maranacook, Hall-Dale and Winthrop -- are represented.

The Hawks, a new co-op team that will compete in Class A, will wear white home jerseys with a black stripe. They will wear black jerseys with a white stripe on road games.

Emblazoned on the front is a yellow 'M' (Maranacook), a red 'H' (Hall-Dale) and a green 'W' (Winthrop), so each of the schools' colors are represented.

There is a Hawk logo, but it will appear on just the players' jackets.

The price tag to outfit 30 players with home and away jerseys?

"About $5,100 to $5,200," said Bruce Bornstein, president of the team's booster club, which paid for the uniforms.
