HOCKEY: Class A top-10.

The first hockey Class A coaches/media poll will be released sometime this week. Here's my top 10 as I await Brewer-Waterville showdown Saturday morning at 10:30 at Colby:

1. Brewer: The Witches are 6-0-1 with quality wins over Falmouth, Biddeford and Bangor.

2. Falmouth: Mike Chase or Brewer's Dylan Fitzpatrick?

3. Waterville: Outscored opponents 26-10 in six games (5-1-0).

4. Scarborough: Norm Gagne has Red Storm red-hot

5. Thornton Academy: Five players averaging at least a point a game

6. Biddeford: Hey, the Tigers are still the defending champs

7. Bangor: Playing much better after shaky start

8. St. Dominic: Closes month with games against Bangor, Scarborough, Lewiston, Brewer and Thornton

9. Lewiston: Goalie Cam Poussard is one of best in state

10. Gorham: With a weak schedule, started 6-0-0.

Bangor #7, are you kidding me? Bangor is clearly one of the top 3 teams in the state. I'm not surprised though, after what I saw of your paper's coverage (if you can call it that) last year it is no surprise. Here's an idea for you and all your fellow hacks: get your lazy butts in a car and get up north to see some more games. Otherwise, these top ten polls are nothing more than southern Maine ballwashing. GO RAMS!!!!

Boo hoo. Bangor isn't even in the top ten. If you would get your fat, lazy butt in the car and drive where 90% of the state's population resides, then you'd actually see some teams are that would mop the ice with the Rams! Although, I do agree. This guy doesn't know squat about high school hockey and neither do you.
