GIRLS BASKETBALL: Pease's injury hopefully not as bad as feared
Skowhegan sophomore guard Zoe Pease, who is already wearing a brace on her right knee because of an ACL injury, went down in a heap late in Tuesday's game against Nokomis.
Pease was crying and on the floor for several minutes. When asked what she hurt, she responded, "My knee. Again."
Pease was helped off the floor by trainer John Alden and Skowhegan coach Heath Cowan. After the game, Cowan said there was reason to be optimistic that Pease hadn't suffered another ACL tear.
"She has an ACL tear on her other knee, so when she went down and she tweaked her knee a little bit, I think she panicked -- justifiably so," Cowan said. "But John said the LCL is a little bit loose. They're just going to ice it tonight, take a look at it, see how it feels in the morning."
