Bill Stewart has covered professional, collegiate and scholastic sports for 10 years. A University of Maine graduate, Stewart has worked with the Morning Sentinel and Kennebec Journal for a year. Prior to moving to Maine, Stewart worked for daily newspapers in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Stewart and his wife have one child.

Shawn Lee a Travis Roy Award finalist

Waterville senior defenseman Shawn Lee was named a Travis Roy Award finalist.

The award is given to the state's top senior.

Lee led the Purple Panthers (21-1-0) to their 20th state championship, scoring 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points.

A two-time All-East defenseman, Lee scored a goal in the team's 3-2 victory over St. Dominic in the Class A state championship game on Saturday.

The award will be given out March 15 at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston.
