Dionne puts Bulldogs over the top in OT

BOOTHBAY -- Chelsey Dionne converted a hook shot and made the free throw after being fouled in the final seconds to lead Hall-Dale High School past Boothbay Region High School, 56-55, for the Mountain Valley Conference girls basketball overtime win Wednesday night.

Dionne finished with 17 points. Caitlyn Laflin added 15 points for Hall-Dale (8-0), which was 12 of 18 from the free throw line.

Boothbay (6-3) was led by freshman Kayley Gallagher with 21 points, six rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals.

WINTHROP 59, MONMOUTH 28: Kate Pushard had 16 points and Emilie Knight added 12 as the Ramblers defeated the Mustangs in an MVC game in Winthrop.

The Ramblers (2-6) outscored the Mustangs 31-11 in the second half to secure the win.

Monmouth (2-7) was led by Bianca Cloutier with nine points and Trista Morin with eight.

WISCASSET 72, GEORGES VALLEY 33: In Wiscasset, Amanda Davis had 13 points in the first quarter as the Redskins took a 26-6 lead on their way to the MVC win.

Davis finished with 20 points and eight rebounds. Sarah Whitfield added 15 points for Wiscasset (6-2) while Brittany South had 12.

Georges Valley (2-6) was led by Rachel Campbell with 14 points.

HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY

LEWISTON 5, MESSALONSKEE 3: Adam Longchamps had two goals and Scott Jeffery had a goal and two assists as the Blue Devils handed the Eagles their first loss in six games, in Lewiston.

Jeffery scored midway through the first period to give Lewiston (7-0) a 1-0 lead. Bert Marston scored his first of two goals to tie it about five minutes later. Longchamps answered with his first goal less than 10 seconds later to give the Blue Devils the lead for good.

Eric Grenier and Joe Gauthier both added a goal and an assists for Lewiston. Justin Lawler added a goal and Ted Fabian had three assists for Messalonskee (5-2).

Tristan Poussard had 12 saves for Lewiston and Ben Conti had 30 saves for Messalonskee.

GREELY 5, WIN-DALE 1: The Rangers scored five straight goals on their way to a Class B win over the Icedogs in Falmouth.

Nate Frechette scored 29 seconds into the second period on a powerplay to give Win-Dale (2-4) a 1-0 lead. Pat Fogg then scored twice, and Ryan Green had a goal and an assists in the first to give Greely (3-1) the lead for good.

Espau Spaulding and Andrew Bisbing added goals for Greely, and Ben Daigle, Jesse Blais added assists. Billy Bolduc stopped seven shots to earn the win.

Brandon Ellis had 23 saves for Win-Dale.

EDWARD LITTLE 6, CONY 1: In Auburn, Kyle Smith scored a hat trick to lead the Red Eddies to the Class A win.

Colby Gilbert added two goals while Matt Couturier chipped in with one for Edward Little (7-0). Kris Bennett made seven saves.

Chris Vashon scored off an assist from Chris Day and Dane Wing for Cony (3-6). Mike Lovaglio made 20 saves.

YARMOUTH 3, MARANACOOK 2: In Kents Hill, Toni Tocci scored the game-winning goal and assisted on two others to lead the Clippers to the Class B win.

Andrew Chase and John Miller also scored for Yarmouth (5-1). Ben Colello stopped 24 shots.

Tyler Simpson and Jimmy Oliver had goals for Maranacook (3-3). Dustin Ouellette and Oliver each had an assist. Kyle O'Connor made 30 saves.

PREP SCHOOL HOCKEY

KENTS HILL 5, PENBAY 0: Tim Revell scored two goals and Augusta's Casey Tuttle had 18 saves as the Huskies shut out Penbay at the Alfond Athletics Center in Kents Hill.

Channing Tobey added a goal and an assist, while Craig Houle and Brano Srnka both had two assists, and Zach Wilson a goal for Kents Hill (9-4). Dominic Dinardo had 45 saves for Penbay.

Penbay, is a junior team out of Bangor.
